De La Rosa Bros headline!

This Saturday, Peacemaker Promotions will present an eight-bout fight card billed as “Sons of The Valley” in the South Texas hotbed of boxing known as the Rio Grande Valley, Texas at the Harlingen Field ( White Wing Baseball Stadium ). The main event features the return of Harlingen’s own and former NBC’s “The Contender” participant, JP “El Gallo Negro” De La Rosa (19-2-1, 15 KOs) who makes his return back to the ring after a year absence when he faces Guadalupe “Man of Steel” Martinez (16-2, 9 KOs) in a battle of middleweights. The co-main event has JP’s younger sibling, up and coming welterweight prospect and former WBC Youth welterweight champion ”King” James De La Rosa (18-0, 12 KOs) versus Marteze Logan (26-35-2, 6 KOs).

“I can’t wait to get back into the ring. I am like a little kid waiting patiently for Christmas day to come to open the presents,” said JP. “The new JP De La Rosa will make his triumphant return and I am coming into this fight to win it.”

“King” James De La Rosa stated, ”The Valley will see a new and improved ‘King James.’ This is the longest training camp I’ve had, ten weeks and my trainer Danny Smith is really working me to become a better fighter. I’ll be there soon and I can’t wait to fight before my fans in the Rio Grande Valley.”

The special feature of the night will have unbeaten lightweight prospect “The One” Rashad Ganaway (9-0, 7 KO’s) who will face Jaime “Super-Fly” Sandoval (15-3, 12 KOs) in a ten round NABC lightweight title bout. Sandoval is the younger brother of former world champion Jesus “El Matador” Chavez. Sandoval is coming off of a big win, giving previously unbeaten Argenis Mendez (13-1, 8 KOs) his first and only loss.

The undercard is filled with matchups between local favorites as Mission’s Raul Tovar (5-2, 2 KO’s) takes on Edinburg’s unbeaten, Mario Hernandez (11-0-0, 3KOs) in a 6 round lightweight battle. Kingsville’s John David Charles ( 4-0 ) risks his unbeaten record against San Antonio’s Gilbert Elizondo (5-1-1) in a super lightweight battle scheduled for 6 rounds. Also on the card, heavyweight fan favorite from Kingsville, Homer “El Oso” Fonseca (6-2-2, 2 KO) takes on Laredo’s Gabriel Holguin (24-5, 9 KOs ) in a scheduled 6 round rematch.

There will also be a battle of tough little men, between bantamweights Samuel Gutierrez (4-4) of Pharr who takes on San Antonio’s Joseph Rios (5-3-0, 2 KO) in a scheduled 6 rounder.

Prices start at only $25 General Admission, $40 reserved ringside and VIP tables of 10 seats for $1,500. Card subject to change.
