Australian Heavyweight Mark “The Dominator” de Mori (17-1-2, 15 KO’s) finally stepped back in the ring tonight at the Cockburn Basketball Centre in Perth Australia where he impressively stopped American Dominique “Diamond” Alexander (20-13-1, 9 KO’s) in the 4th round. The Dominator was in control of the fight right from the start as he took Round 1. De Mori caught Alexander with a vicious body shot in Round 2 that sent him to the canvas for the first time. After beating the count de Mori attacked the body again and sent Alexander down for the second time, Alexander survived the round.
Round 3 and Alexander circled the ring as he tried to avoid de Mori’s power. At one stage de Mori did a little shimmy to try and get “Diamond” involved. Another nasty body shot sent Alexander down again. Alexander was brave and survived round 3.
de Mori unleashed more power shots in the 4th round and Alexander went down for the fourth time in the fight at which time the referee immediately stopped the fight. Time was 2:46 of Round 4.
Alexander was courageous and classy in defeat as the thanked the crowd and said he loved Perth and would love to come back in the future.
There was no sign on ring rust from De Mori who had been out of action since 2009.
de Mori who is currently signed with Don King now looks forward to his next opportunity.
In other action MMA star Xavier “X-Man” Lucas (4-2, 3 KO’s) stepped back in the boxing ring and was very impressive in scoring a decision victory over Togasilimai Letoa (11-9-1, 6 KO’s), Scores after 6 rounds were 60-54, 59-55, 59-55.
Also in the undercard Mark de Mori’s brother Eric “The Hammer” de Mori stopped Rakesh Kumar at the end of Round 2.
Paul Samways won by 2nd round TKO over Raymond Tuli, Grant Horwood defeated Colin McKean via 2nd round TKO, and Jobert De Los Reyes was impressive in stopping Jacob McBride in Round 3.
