Vitaliy Demyanenko (17-0, 11 KOs) successfully defended his WBC Asian Boxing Council, WBO Asia Pacific and PABA welterweight titles Saturday night in Raleigh, North Carolina. Demyanenko survived a cut from a clash of heads to earn a unanimous 12-round decision over Paul Delgado (20-9) of Atlanta, GA. In the co-feature, heavyweight Donnell Holmes of North Carolina improved to 31-0 with his 27th KO when he stopped Cleveland’s Ryan Thompson in the second round of a scheduled ten. Former heavyweight fighter Paul “The Italian Hitman” Marinaccio and his JawBreaker Promotions, Inc had an impressive promotional debut. “We had around 1,600 people in a beautiful venue and it was very successful,” said the happy Marinaccio. The new company is looking at a couple more dates in North Carolina and up north before the end of the year.
