According to German newspaper “Hamburger Abendblatt” unbeaten heavyweight contender Denis Boytsov (31-0, 25 KOs) will face Marcelo Luis Nascimento (16-4, 14 KOs) on February 17th in Schwerin, Germany. It would be Boytsov’s first fight in ten months. The 26-year-old Russian has been sidelined due to legal issues which might force him out of the fight against Nascimento, too. Boytsov was promoted by Universum Box-Promotion since starting his career in 2004. When the former promotional powerhouse officially filed bankruptcy in November 2012, Denis Boytsov started considering himself a free-agent. But promoter Waldemar Kluch who bought Universum from Klaus-Peter Kohl in 2011 claims he still has an exclusive contract with the hard-hitting Russian. “I haven’t been contacted regarding this fight in February”, states Kluch according to German website boxen-heute.de. “And I will certainly not give him permission to step into the ring. We have a valid contract. He can fight at my shows or he will not fight at all until his contract expires in 2016.”
