It was Devon Alexander’s turn to take to the fabled Kronk Gym ring in Detroit as he went through a final workout for the media in preparation for his contest with Tim Bradley at the Pontiac Silverdome on Saturday night. Looking sharp and fast Alexander worked several brisk rounds of shadow boxing before trainer Kevin Cunningham put on the mitts for a round of power and speed target practice. Alexander had stated “I’m ready to rock and roll!” and he beat a steady and driving rhythm, firing off his combinations at Cunningham’s gloves.
After his workout Devon fielded questions. “I’m in my best shape ever, I’m locked in” exclaimed Alexander. When asked if he was concerned with what Bradley might be planning he confidently stated, “I’m ready for anything, we have an excellent game plan. Saturday night people are going to see why they call me Great!” Alexander seemed extremely pleased with his training camp adding ” we let no distractions get in the way.” Cunningham stated that Devon was at 142 pounds and making the 140 limit would be no issue.
When asked what the fans would see on Saturday night, Alexander proclaimed “expect fireworks!”
