Rising italian boxing star, the undefeated supermiddleweight Andrea Di Luisa (8-0, 8 KOs) became the new National 168 lbs champion Friday night at the PalaMalè in Viterbo, Italy, after scoring a spectacular first round TKO over co-challenger and former kick boxing superstar Roberto Cocco (10-5, 5 KOs).
The performance of hard hitting Di Luisa was very impressive, he started match very strongly and Cocco was knocked down up cold by two big right crosses to the head, the lion heart Cocco got to his feet but the contest was correctly stopped by referee Antonio Giubelli at the record time of 0:41 seconds in the first round. It was the first title for the 28-year-old Di Luisa once again looked impressive and who might now be ready for a International level.
On the undercard, undefeated featherweight Giuseppe Di Micco (6-0, 3 KOs) outpointed former euro challenger and stablemate Luca Maggio (8-5, 1 KOs) over six good rounds of boxing.
