Dib ready for Velez

IBF featherweight champion Billy “The Kid” Dib (35-1, 21 KOs) will make third defense of the title when he will clash with undefeated Jayson Velez (19-0, 14 KOs) on December 1st in Madison Square Garden, New York on the undercard of Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout. Dib captured the title by scoring a twelve round decision over Jorge Lacierva in 2011 and followed with a 1st round KO of Alberto Servidei then a six round stoppage of Eduardo Escobedo in 2012. This will be the second appearance in Madison Square Garden for Dib as back in 2007 he scored a shutout over Rogers Mtagwa. Billy has been having excellent sparring from former WBO lightweight champion Michael Katsidis. Dib said “I have been away in camp working really hard preparing myself for my Dec 1st bout against Jason Velez. Durning camp I managed to get some work In with the warrior himself Michael Katsidis. I’m ready and looking forward to destroying Velez andmaking a statement in American shores.”
