Dib stops Sismundo

IBF #4, WBA #12 Billy Dib (31-1, 19 KOs) stopped Ricky Sismundo (18-6, 7 KOs) in eight rounds at the Italian club, Perth, Western Australia on Saturday. Dib controlled all the rounds and forced a stoppge in the eighth and final round. Dib is chasing a shot at WBA champion Chris John and IBF champion Yuriorkis Gamboa.
Dib is a former IBO 130 world champion but lost a WBO featherweight title opportunity to Steve Luevano in 2008. He has stopped his last seven opponents. Sismundo took the WBC#1 jnr lightweight Terdsak Kokietgym twelve rounds in 2010.
Also former WBO 154 pound challenger Daniel Dawson (36-3, 24 KOs) outpointed Filipino Arnel Tinampay (12-13-1, 4 KOs) over eight rounds. Dawson was in trouble in round one but came back to win a majority decision by scores 76-76, 77-75, 78-74. Dawson lost to WBO champion Serhiy Dzinziruk in ten rounds in 2010 but outscored American Jason LeHoullier in eight rounds in December.
Classy middleweight Robbie Bryant (14-1-1, 7 KOs) clearly outcored Togasilimai Letoa (11-7, 6 KOs) captured the vacant PABA title by scores by scores 118-110, 115-113, 116-112.
Hot prospect featherweight Paul Fleming (9-0, 6 KOs) scored a third round knockout over Joan de Guia (11-14-4, 3 KOs) . A solid body shot followed uppercut dropped the Filipino for the count.
