Former IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib spoke to Fightnews about his recent ten round contest against veteran Mike Oliver and plans for a IBF world title challenge. “I was pleased to get back in the winners circle,” said Dib. “My game plan against Oliver was to go to the body and wear him down. That is what we trained for and that was my coach’s instructions. Unfortunately with the referees warning and point deduction, I had to completely change the game plan which threw me off a little. I was trying to engage with Oliver and make it a great fight for the fans but he kept backing up trying to survive.
“It was great to be back in America on television and I am very grateful to ESPN and 50 Cent for the opportunity. My goal which has never changed since losing my title is to get it back. I am hoping to fight Gradovich for the belt if he fights beats Munoz. I will have some rest now and get back in the gym and train like a man possessed to get my title back.”
