Dimitrenko defeats Kurtagic

By Skoda Stanislav

It wasn’t easy, but 6’7 heavyweight Alexander Dimitrenko (33-2, 21 KOs) was victorious against Samir Kurtagic (11-5, 8 KOs) on Friday night at the Sportcentrum Sluneta in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. Dimitrenko overcame an eighth round knockdown and also had a point deduction to win an eight round unanimous decision.

In the main event, 24-year-old lightweight prospect Martin Parlagi (8-0, 4 KOs) from the Slovakian Republic (training in Prague) won a ten round unanimous decision over Czech Michal Dufek (9-3-1, 6 KOs) in a clash for the vacant Czech International title.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
