WBO #1 ranked heavyweight Alexander Dimitrenko (29-0, 19 KOs) could fight against official challenger IBF heavyweight world title Alexander Povetkin (16-0, 12 KOs) for the vacant EBU (European) heavyweight title. On April 4th, Povetkin is set to meet with Jason Estrada (15-1, 3 KOs) at the Burg-Waechter Castello, on Duesseldorf, Germany. The camps have until April 21st to discuss details of the fight.
Alexander Dimitrenko has given a comment to Fightnews.com:
“I know Povetkin from when we were in amateur boxing. We often acted as sparring partners in the ring. For me it will be a very interesting and important fight because the winner will receive a fight against WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. For me, that is my number one goal. I am ready to fight with the best fighters and to win.”
