The final press conference was held today at the Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas for Friday’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” fight card.

Don King: This card is called “Fight for Freedom, The Dream Lives On” because the main event features a fighter who came from Cuba on a raft with 26 other people (Angelo Santana 14-0, 11 KOs) against a fighter who migrated from Uzbekistan (Bahodir Mamadjonov, 11-1, 7KOs). It will also feature two young up and coming fighters in Amir Imam (8-0, 7KOs) against Jeremy Bryan (16-2, 7 KOs).

It’s a shame that Showtime could not show the fight between 2 of the best light heavyweights around and both undefeated in Ryan Coyne (21-0, 9KOs) and Marcus Oliveira (24-0, 19 KOs). This will be a WBA 12 round final elimination bout to determine the number one ranking and mandatory challenger for the champion Beibut Shumenov

Angelo Santana: I am thrilled to be on this card and to show my skills. I want to Thank God, Don King and Showtime.

Bahodir Mamadjonov: I am happy to be here. I want to thank Don King and Santana’s camp for giving me this opportunity Be sure and watch Friday.

Amir Imam: I want to thank DKP and Showtime and Treasure Island for allowing me to show my talent. This is Showtime and I came to showcase my talents.

Jeremy Bryan: I had a great camp and I am in great shape and I am out here to do what I do best.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
