Doping test dispute could KO Klitschko-Povetkin

The heavyweight championship showdown between Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin is in jeopardy due to a dispute over drug testing. The Klitschko camp insists that the doping test results be evaluated by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) certified laboratory in Cologne, Germany. The fight is planned for October in Moscow. “Without this agreement, there is no fight,” Klitschko’s manager Bernd Bönte told the German news magazine Focus. “On this we will not move away. We insist that the NADA and German Boxing Federation are responsible as an sanctioning federation for the implementation and analysis of the drug tests.”

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
