More on Double Assault presser

The final presser for the pay-per-view event titled ‘The Double Assault’ was held today in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. The event is being presented by PR Best Boxing in association with All Star Boxing, Sampson Boxing LLC, and SGG Promotions. The main event will feature Puerto Rico’s Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. (17-0-1, 14 KOs) vs. former world champion Marvin Sonsona (14-0-1, 12 KOs) of the Philippines. The two will square off for real this Saturday at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

Iván Rivera: “We are just days away from what many fans of boxing are looking forward to seeing in two young, exciting, and unbeaten fighters facing off for a world title. This fight will also continue the growth of boxing’s newest and exciting rivalry developing between Filipino and Puerto Rican fighters.”

Wilfredo Vázquez Jr.: “I am 100% mentally and Physically prepared for this fight. Sonsona is going to find out that he made a mistake in fighting me. I will box intelligently but If I connect with a solid punch the fight is going to be over.”

Marvin Sonsona: “Moving up from 115 to 122 pounds I feel much stronger and I am punching much harder. I have what it takes to defeat Vázquez. I feel that I am more experienced than he is. This Saturday night I will put my skills on display and win the world title.”

Also featured on the televised card will be unbeaten 6’6″ cruiserweight giant Carlos Negron of Puerto Rico (7-0, 5 KOs) vs. Roy Ashworth, prospect Jonathan Oquendo (17-2, 11 KOs) of Puerto Rico will meet Mexican José Ángel Beranza (32-16-2, 25 KOs) in a bout for the WBO Latino junior featherweight title, and the debut of the dynamic duo, Puerto Rico twins McJoe and McWilliams Arroyo.

The pay-per-view event will begin at 9pm ET/6pm PT on both cable and satellite. The PPV cost will be $34.95 and available in Puerto Rico, U.S., Canada, Philippines, Central and South America.
