Dover Downs Card Firms Up

ESPN2 cameras return to Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware on Friday, February 24, when Juan Carlos Burgos (28-1, 19 KOs) defends his WBC Silver super featherweight title against former world featherweight champion Cristobal Cruz (39-12-3, 23 KOs) in the ten round main event. In addition, Edgar Santana (26-3, 17 KOs) will defend his NABA light welterweight title against Manuel Perez (16-7-1, 4 KOs) in another ten round bout. Mike Tiberi (18-1, 7 KOs) will attempt to win his first title, as he takes on Toris Brewer (14-4, 6 KOs) for the vacant WBF Intercontinental super middleweight title, making it three titles at stake on the night.

Other bouts:

NABF female super featherweight champ Ronica Jeffrey (8-0, 1 KO) will face Evette Collazo (4-3, 2 KOs). Jeffrey’s belt will not be on the line.

Unbeaten Anthony Caputo Smith (12-0, 10 KOs) takes on Adam Collins (10-5, 7 KOs) in a six round light heavyweight contest.

Former amateur star Omar Douglas (3-0, 2 KOs) faces Vernon Alston (4-2, 2 KOs) in a four round lightweight bout.

Rounding out the card will be crowd favorite Ryan Belasco (16-5-3, 3 KOs) taking on an opponent to be named in a welterweight bout.
