Before a near capacity crowd, Battle in the Ballroom made its final appearance of the year at the Irvine Marriott. In the 6 round light heavyweight main event, Anatoliy Dudchenko, toyed with his over-matched opponent, late substitute Ernesto Zamora, for 5 rounds, beating him up in the process and opening a bad cut over Zamora’s eye. Dudchenko proved to be too fast for Zamora and rather than mixing it up, Dudchenko was happy to land a couple punches at a time and then move out of harm’s way, to the disdain of the crowd in attendance. Zamora, despite being significantly lighter than in his last fight, a heavyweight contest earlier in the year, appeared winded by the third round, making the superior conditioned Dudchenko’s job even easier.

Dudchenko, rather than going in for the kill, mostly played it safe, and continued to pick his shots until the referee, under the advice of the ringside doctor, finally called a halt to the fight in the fifth round, giving Dudchenko a TKO victory.

With the victory, Dudchenko improves to (7-2, 6 KOs) while Zamora drops to (17-19, 12 KOs).

In supporting action, undefeated 6’7 Lionel Davis met fellow undefeated heavyweight Seth Colebrook. Although on paper it looked to be an exciting matchup, Colebrook was out of his league and was no match for Davis. With the first combination thrown by Davis, a simple 1-2–jab followed by right cross–Colebrook was floored and badly hurt. Although Colebrook did show heart in getting up, he was still hurt and finished seconds later after a flurry of hard punches from Davis finished him for good.

With the knockout victory, Davis improves to (5-0, 4 KOs), while Colebrook drops to (3-1, 3 KOs).

In opening action, a 4 round lightweight contest, Manuel Delcid was the victor by unanimous decision over debuting Manuel Sanchez Jr. With the victory, Delcid improves to (2-0) while Sanchez Jr. drops to (0-1).

The originally scheduled main event of undefeated Joe Hanks vs Bernard Brown was a late scratch from the card.

Promoter for the event was Roy Englebrecht Promotions and Matchmaker for the event was Arnold Berber.
