Dulorme returns August 31

Universal Promotions will present the boxing event “Night Of Champions”, to be held on August 31 at the Guillermo Angulo Coliseum in Carolina, Puerto Rico. For the main event, welterweight hometown prospect Thomas Dulorme (15-0, 12 KOs) will face Colombian fighter Iván Hernández (29-3, 23 KOs). “We are very happy with the fact that Thomas will be fighting in Carolina for his people, he has not fought in Puerto Rico in more than a year. Boxing fans will witness Dulorme’s incredible talent, more details about this boxing card will be available soon,” said Universal Promotion’s president Javier Bustillo.

The 22-year-old is very exited about the fight: “Without a doubt this is one of the great things to ever happen to me in boxing. Since I was a boy I’ve always wanted to fight in the town that saw me develop. This is a dream come true, I’m very grateful to Bustillo and the honorable mayor of Carolina for this opportunity.” said Dulorme who is represented promotionally by Universal Promotions, Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertainment.

About his opponent, Dulorme said: “I’ve seen him before, he’s a great fighter. During my training I’ve been very concious of that so I can be victorious in front of my people of Carolina”.

On June 14th in New York City, Dulorme was impressive against veteran Alberto Herrera (8-6, 5KO), who could not step up to an 8th and last round against the Boricua fighter because of the punishment he was going through.

Dulorme is currently ranked #13 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), #3 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and #3 by the World Boxing Association (WBA).

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
