Boxing judges had a hard time picking winners on Friday night at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.
In the main event, middleweight Don “Da Bomb” George (24-3-2, 21 KOs) seemed to outwork David “The Destroyer” Lopez (41-14, 23 KOs), but the judges rendered scores of 97-94 Lopez, 96-94 George and 95-95.
Former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (33-5-2, 28 KOs) and local favorite Adrian Granados (11-2-2, 7 KOs) also battled to a ten round draw. Granados got off to a good start, but was rocked and busted up by some big shots by Cintron in round four. Granados boxed well and mostly stayed away from Cintron’s power in the late rounds. Scores were 96-94 Granados, 97-95 Cintron and 95-95.
Unbeaten featherweight Hairon “El Maja” Socarras (7-0-1, 5 KOs) dropped Sergio Montes de Oca (7-2-1, 2 KOs) in round one and cruised to a four round unanimous decision. Scores were 40-35 on all cards.
