Hector Camacho Jr (49-3-1, 27 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Israel “Pito” Cardona (36-10, 28 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC CABOFE light middleweight title on Saturday night at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. When the bout was fought in the center of the ring, Camacho had the advantage, however Cardona was often able maneuver Camacho to the ropes where the action was more heated. In the end, Camacho won 94-93, 95-92, 95-92. “Machito” may next be headed to a showdown with Yory Boy Campas.
Light heavyweight Ronald “The American Dream” Johnson (11-1, 3 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Billy “The Billy Goat” Bailey (9-5, 3 KOs). Johnson dropped Bailey with a right hand in round three and cruised to a one-sided 100-89, 100-89, 99-90 win. With the win, Johnson picked up the WBC USNBC light heavyweight title.
Welterweight Marvin Cordova (21-1-1, 11 KOs) pounded out an eight round unanimous decision over Ernest Johnson (18-4-1, 7 KOs). Score were 77-75, 79-73, 79-73.
