In a crossroads bout, Roberto Garcia won an eight round unanimous decision over former world title challenger Jose Shibata Flores at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, CA. Flores controlled the first two rounds, but Garcia (29-3, 21 KO’s) increased his aggression and punch output from the third round on. Garcia dropped Flores with a right hand to the head in the sixth round. Flores (45-11, 26 KO’s) attempted to mount a rally, but came up short. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Garcia by scores of 78-73, 77-74, and 80-71. Garcia rebounds from last year’s defeat to Antonio Margarito, while Flores’ two-fight winning streak is snapped.

Rivera had the upper hand at the beginning of the fourth round, but tired towards the end, allowing Ishe to counter. One judge scored the bout even at 37-37, while the other two judges had Ishe winning 38-37. Fightnews.com scored the bout 37-37.
