Amir “Hardcore” Mansour (17-0, 13 KOs) blasted out Dominique “Diamond” Alexander (23-16-1, 11 KOs) with a barrage of power shots just 24 seconds into the opening round of a scheduled ten round heavyweight bout on Friday night at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware. Two brutal rights to the body of Alexander set up a four-punch barrage to the head from Mansour. Alexander went down and could not beat referee Vic DeWysocki’s ten count.
WBC #15 heavyweight Franklin “Yah Yah” Lawrence (19-2-2, 14 KOs) stayed busy with a second round TKO over Mark “Oak Tree” Brown (15-5, 7 KOs). Brown’s corner stopped the bout after round two of the scheduled eight rounder.
Edgar Santana (27-4, 18 KOs) dropped Eddie Soto (12-6, 4 KOs) twice with brutal body shots, stopping him at 1:36 of the second round of a scheduled eight round welterweight bout.
Cornelius “Lightning” Lock (20-6-1, 13 KOs) hammered tough Damon Antoine (11-45-2, 5 KOs), stopping him at :38 of the second round of a scheduled six round super featherweight bout. Antoine was down twice in each round.
Unbeaten prospect Omar Douglas (7-0, 5 KOs) battered David Warren Huffman (4-13-1, 1 KO) for two rounds, before Huffman’s corner stopped the bout between the second and third rounds of the scheduled six round super featherweight contest.
John “Church Boy” Bowman (5-0-1) took a close unanimous decision over James Denson (5-12, 2 KOs) in a four round middleweight bout. Scores were 39-37 across the board.
Frankie “The Freight Train” Filippone (12-2-1, 2 KOs) pitched a shutout over Richard “Bobo” Starnino (9-11-2, 2 KOs) in a six round light heavyweight bout. Scores were all 60-54.
