Piotr Wilczewski (29-1, 10 KOs) scored an eleventh round TKO over hometown favorite Amin Asikainen (28-4, 19 KOs) on Friday night to claim the European super middleweight title at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. The bout was also for the WBO-Intercontinental belt.

Unbeaten light welterweight Denis Shafikov (26-0-1, 15 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over Nugzar Margvelashvili (18-10, 7 KOs). Margvelashvili took an eight-count in round four after a body punch punch from the southpaw Shafikov, who pretty much did what he wanted to do.

Light welterweight Edis Tatli (14-0, 3 KOs) outpointed Stuart Green (15-11) over eight by scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 80-72.

Cruiserweight Juho Haapoja (14-2-1, 10 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Mantas Tarvydas (17-10, 11 KOs)

Featherweight Andreas Evensen (14-2, 6 KOs) stopped Yordan Vasilev (9-21-2, 1 KO) in round three. The fight was stopped after Evensen dropped Vasilev for the third time. Evensen is a former world title challenger.

Super featherweight Eva Wahlstrom (5-0, 2 KOs) won a six-rounder over Kristine Shergold (4-5, 1 KO). Shergold took an 8-count in round four after a hard short right to the head. Shergold was very strong and landed very good body shots every round, but Eva was better and hit harder. Scores were 59-55, 58-56 and 58-56.

Welterweight Jussi Koivula (8-0, 3 KOs) topped Konstantins Sakara (7-18-1, 6 KOs) over six by scores of 60-54, 60-56 and 59-55.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
