Forbes KOs Valenzuela

Former IBF super featherweight world champion and now campaigning as a welterweight Steve Forbes (35-8, 11 KOs) knocked out veteran Roberto Valenzuela (55-56-2, 45 KOs) with a body shot in round two on Friday night at the Hammond Cvic Center in Hammond, Indiana. Time was 2:08. The 33-year-old Forbes, best known for his role on “The Contender: Season 2,” gets back into the win column after dropping five of his last seven.

In an upset, unheralded welterweight Eric Draper (2-4, 0 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over Ed Ochoa (10-2, 9 KOs). Score were 58-55, 57-56, 58-55.

“The Fighting Schoolteacher” Jimmy Holmes (19-1-2, 10 KOs) taught Joseph Harden (10-21-2, 1 KOs) a painful lesson, dropping him three times in round one in a super middleweight bout. Time was 2:27.
