Lauri tops Tolppola!

European Union light welterweight champion Giuseppe Lauri (48-6, 6 KOs) retained his belt with by tenth round DQ against Juho Tolppola (22-6-1, 9 KOs) on Saturday night at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. The bout became the main event after the WBA heavyweight championship clash between Nicolay Valuev and Ruslan Chagaev was canceled. The bout was stopped after Tolppola punched Lauri on the side of the head after a break command. It was a very hard fight with a lot of punches from both sides. Tolppola had previously been deducted two points by the referee for a head butt at the end of round one.
WBA, WBC female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus outpointed Amy Yuratovac over ten rounds to retain her belts. Scores were 98-92, 98-92, 98-92.
Heavyweight southpaw Jarno Rosberg annihilated Viktor Szalai in just 26 seconds. A hard left hand to the head and the fight was over.
Light welter Denis Shafikov scored a first round TKO over John Cotterill Jr. Shavikov landed some hard bodyshots and a left uppercut to the head that put Cotterill down for the full ten count
Heavyweight Robert Helenius scored a sixth round KO over Scott Gammer. Gammer was down in rounds one and six. A right to the body and a right to the head and it’s game over. Helenius has a fast left jab and a hard body punch.
Super middle Niko Jokinen topped Istvan Petroczki over four (40-36)
