In his first bout since losing to Manny Pacquiao 20 months ago, former world champion Joshua Clottey (36-4, 21 KOs) got back into the win column with a second round TKO over Calvin Green (21-6-1, 13 KOs). A beautiful left hook to the jaw dropped Green and left him unable to continue. Time was 1:56.

Unbeaten lightweight Mickey Bey Jr (18-0-1, 9 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over veteran Hector Velazquez (51-17-3, 35 KOs). Velazquez dropped Bey hard in round two and Bey barely survived the round but was able to recover. Scores were 76-75, 78-73, 77-74.

Jr middleweight Jose “Barretas” Pinzon (20-2-1, 12 KOs) took an eight round unanimous decision over Larry Smith (10-8, 7 KOs) by scores of 79-72 on all cards.

Unbeaten welterweight Wale Omotoso (20-0, 17 KOs) won an eight round decision over Lanardo Tyner (25-5-2, 15 KOs)

Super featherweight Ivan Otero (7-0, 1 KO) won a majority decision over Gino Escamilla (5-11-1, 2 KOs). Scores were 38-38, 39-37, 40-36.

Pro debuting welterweight Alex Saucedo scored an explosive first round KO over Cedric Sheppard (0-2).

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
