Former world title challenger Angel “Toro” Hernandez (29-7, 16 KOs) won an upset unanimous decision over James McGirt Jr (19-2-1, 9 KOs) in a super middleweight bout on Friday night at Mallory Square in Key West, Florida. Hernandez pressured the busier McGirt throughout the bout and was awarded with a 96-94, 96-94, 96-95 win. The bout was originally announced as a majority decision, due to a mistake in the addition on one of the cards. The McGirt camp was furious with the scoring.
In the main event, jr middleweight Eromosele Albert (22-2-1, 10 KOs) pounded out a workmanlike ten round unanimous decision over late sub Germaine Sanders (27-7, 17 KOs). Scores were 100-90 on all cards. Alvbert was originally slated to face ex-world champion Carlos Quintana.
