Welterweight Freddy “El Riel” Hernandez (26-1, 18 KOs) outworked Damian “Devo” Frias (16-2, 7 KOs) over ten workmanlike rounds on Friday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas. Hernandez did some good bodywork, but never really opened up. Frias’ best round was the tenth, but it was too little too late. Scores were 98-92 on all cards.

In a battle of world-ranked contenders, undefeated super bantamweight IBF #7 Victor “Vitino” Fonseca (17-0, 9 KOs) beat down WBA #7 Al “The Quiet Storm” Seeger (28-5, 22 KOs) over nine rounds. Fonseca simply mugged Seeger in the ninth round, battering him to the deck to get the stoppage. Time was 1:41.
