Featherweight Fernando Beltran Jr. (32-3-1, 18 KOs) won a close twelve round split decision over Miguel “Mickey Mouse” Roman (25-5, 17 KOs) on Friday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas. Beltran, a two-time former world title challenger, won 115-113, 115-113 on two cards while Roman won 117-111 on the third card. Beltran claimed the vacant IBF Latino featherweight title.

In the co-featured bout, unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Ruslan Provodnikov (12-0, 7 KOs) punished Esteban Almaraz (9-2, 4 KOs) for six rounds, dropping him in round five and winning by scores of 59-54, 60-53, 60-53.

Unbeaten Olympian junior middleweight prospect Demetrius Andrade (4-0, 4 KOs) continued to impress with a second round KO over Arnulfo Javier Romero (3-4). Andrade dropped Romero in round one and knocked him out with an uppercut at 2:53 of the second stanza.
