Melligan dominates Gonzalez

Welterweight Mark Melligen (18-2, 13 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Norberto Gonzalez (18-2, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Melligan was the aggressor for much of the fight and came away with a 100-90 win on all cards.

Unbeaten featherweight Diego Magdalano (15-0, 3 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Manny Perez (14-6-1, 2 KOs) by scores of 99-91, 100-90, 97-93.

In other off-TV action, former title challenger Lamont Peterson (28-1, 14 KOs) stopped Detroit’s Damien Fuller (30-7-1, 14 KOs) at 1:10 of round seven. Former amateur standout Jose Benavidez (4-0, 4 KOs), of Phoenix, stopped Scott Paul (5-5, 1 KO), at 1:30 of round two. Las Vegas super lightweight Anthony Lenk (7-1, 4 KOs) TKO’d Wilson Rivera (3-4, 1 KO) at 1:19 of round three.
