Quigg retains WBA super bantam belt with draw

In his first bout after being elevated from interim titlist, WBA super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg (26-0-2, 19 KOs) retained his belt with a twelve round draw against Yoandris Salinas (20-0-2, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London. The pedigree of former Cuban national team member Salinas was evident early, but Quigg came on strong late while Salinas faded. Scores were 114-114, 115-113, 114-114.

2012 Olympic super heavyweight gold medalist Anthony Joshua successfully made his pro debut with a first round KO over previously unbeaten Emanuele Leo (8-1, 3 KOs). Time was 2:47. Good performance by Joshua.

Former world title challenger Kevin Mitchell (35-2, 25 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Marco Lopez (23-3, 14 KOs) to claim the vacant IBF Inter-Continental lightweight belt. The bout was waved off at 1:44 after Mitchell floored Lopez in the sixth.

British and Commonwealth featherweight beltholder Lee Selby (17-1, 6 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Ryan Walsh (16-1-1, 8 KOs). Scores were 118-110, 118-112, 117-111.

2012 Olympic lightweight gold medalist Luke Campbell (2-0, 2 KOs) blew away Neil Hepper (5-3, 0 KOs) in round one.

Cruiserweight Wadi Camacho (10-2, 6 KOs) dropped Tony Conquest (12-1, 5 KOs) in rounds one and two, then was outboxed the next ten rounds. Conquest prevailed by unanimous decision.
