Dominguez stops Resendiz

WBC #3 lightweight Ricardo ‘Pelon’ Dominguez (31-4-2, 19 KOs) scored a third round TKO over late sub Leonardo Resendiz (22-24, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the Auditorio Pablo Colin in Cuautitlan Izcalli, outside Mexico City. Resendiz surprisingly dropped Dominguez in round one, but Dominguez returned the favor, putting Resendiz down at the end of round two. Round three was all Dominguez and Resendiz did not come out for round four.

Featherweight Andres ‘Chavy’ Romero (15-2, 8 KOs won by DQ over Genaro ‘Duro’ Camargo (29-9, 23 KOs) after Carmago cut Romero over the left eye with an intentional headbutt in round five. Official time was :05 of round six.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Raul Hirales (9-0, 5 KOs) won a six round split decision over Tomas Sierra (9-18, 6 KOs). Hirales knocked down Sierra in rounds two and five, but Sierra still was ahead 58-57 on one card. Hirales prevailed by scores of 57-55, 58-54 on the other cards.
