Johnson, Solomon still unbeaten

Unbeaten jr middleweight Yudell Johnson (7-0, 5 KOs) scored an eighth round TKO over Juliano Ramos (16-4, 13 KOs) on Friday night in the Fuchs Pavilion located at the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds in Miami, Florida. Johnson, a Cuban defector who won the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, was in command the whole way and the affair was finally halted by referee Telis Assimenios with about 20 seconds left in round eight.
Unbeaten welterweight Brad Solomon (12-0, 4 KOs) outboxed previously unbeaten Kenny Galarza (13-1, 13 KOs) over ten one-sided rounds. Scores were 99-90, 100-89, 100-89. Solomon frustrated Galarza all night. Galarza had kayoed all of his previous foes.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
