Former two-division world champion Zab Judah (39-6, 27 KOs), moving back to the jr welterweight division for the first time since 2003, scored an impressive third round TKO over Jose Armando Santa Cruz (28-5, 17 KOs) on Friday night at the Prudential Center, Newark, NJ. A left uppercut floored Santa Cruz in the third and the fight was waved off during Judah’s vicious follow up barrage. Time was 2:33.

Olympian welterweight Sadam Ali (8-0, 4 KOs) dropped Julius Edmonds (7-8) in rounds one and two, and the mismatch was waved off in round three. Time was 1:14.

Unbeaten welterweight Alex Perez (12-0, 7 KOs) outpointed Edvan Barros (10-10-1, 7 KOs) over eight by scores of 77-75, 78-74, 80-72.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
