WBA minimumweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (26-0, 22 KOs) reappeared on Friday night in a Nicaraguan ring after almost two years without fighting in his home country. “Chocolatito” annihilated 19-year-old Jesus Limones (9-2-1, 4 KOs) in two brutal rounds at the Centro de Convenciones Hotel Camino Real in Managua. Gonzalez floored Limones at the end of round one and finished him seconds into round two. The bout was fought in the jr flyweight division.
Former WBA lightweight champion Jose “Quiebra Jicara” Alfaro (24-6, 21 KOs), coming off his bout with Erik Morales in March, destroyed Joel Juarez (25-11-1) in a scheduled ten round super lightweight clash. Alfaro dropped Juarez once in round one and twice in round two before one-sided beatdown was waved off near the end of round two.
