In an upset, lightweight Tyrone Harris (24-5, 16 KOs) scored his biggest win with a sudden eighth round TKO over highly regarded Marvin Quintero (16-2, 12 KOs) on Friday night at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. Referee Raul Caiz Jr. quickly waved it off after Harris rocked Quintero with two hooks. Time was 1:05. Quintero, who hurt his right hand in the bout, never got into his normal attack mode as Harris resurrected his career after a KO loss in May to Urbano Antillon. Note: Quintero had weighed in at the contracted weight of 131 during Thursday’s weigh in, but Harris measured 132.25 and was fined by the California State Athletic Commission. He reportedly gained 11 pounds after re-hydrating.
