Heavyweight Kevin McBride (34-7-1, 29 KOs), returning from a two-and-a-half year layoff, was upset by spoiler Zack Page (21-29-2, 7 KOs) on Saturday night at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. The 282lb McBride, best known for ending the career of Mike Tyson, was too slow to deal with the workrate of the quicker cruiserweight-sized Page and lost a one-sided eight round unanimous decision by scores of 80-82, 80-72 and 78-74.
Heavyweight Nagy Aguilera (16-3, 11 KOs) needed just 67 seconds to annihilate Roderick Willis (14-7-1, 8 KOs). Aguilera, rebounding from a KO loss to Sam Peter in an IBF eliminator, bumrushed Willis and unloaded until the bout was waved off.
Featherweight Luis Orlando Del Valle (10-0, 8 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over Pasqual Rouse (20-15-3, 11 KOs). The bout was for the NY State championship.
