In a quick beating, former world champ Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda (36-6, 29KOs) stopped Luis Carlos Leon (13-5, 11KOs) in two short rounds in the main event bout in Rosarito, Mexico. Leon looked game enough as both fighters displayed brisk action in the first. Leon even scored a scorching combination to the head of Miranda to start the second but one too left hooks to the body from Miranda did the trick as “Pingo” control of the second half of the round and punished Leon to the body until the end of the round Leon refused to come out in the third giving Miranda the KO win.
In the co-feature, late sub Felipe “Gallito” Orucuta (22-1, 7KOs) scored an impressive fifth round knock out of Colombian Deiby Perez (14-5, 8KOs). The Mexico City bantamweight took a couple of rounds to study his opponent but by the third on it was only a matter of time as he connected well placed jabs, right hands and body shots. Perez held his own but a hard left hook to the mouth of the stomach sent Perez down to the count. Official time was :23 of the fifth round.
