Middleweight Brian Vera (21-6, 12 KOs) showed his 2011 victory over former world champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora (23-3-2, 7 KOs) wasn’t a fluke by winning a twelve round majority decision in their rematch on Saturday night at the Illusions Theater at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. In a good action fight, Vera pressed the action and threw more punches, while Mora showed some nifty defense and landed the cleaner shots. Scores were 118-110, 117-111, 114-114.
Popular featherweight Antonio Escalante (27-4, 19 KOs) scored a spectacular second round KO over Leonilo Miranda (36-5, 25 KOs) in a battle of KO artists. A right hand leveled Miranda at 1:19.
