Scores were 97-93, 100-90, 99-91. Soto-Karass may now be headed into a collision with former world title challenger Alfonso Gomez on the Pacquiao-Cotto card.

Unbeaten featherweight Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia moved to 18-0, 15 KOs with a seventh round TKO over Carlos Rivera (16-4-2, 5 KOs). Garcia dropped Rivera in round five with a body shot and the bout was stopped two rounds later due to a cut suffered by Rivera. Time was :40.
