WBC interim super flyweight champion Tomás “Gusano” Rojas (32-11-1, 22 KOs) retained his title via unanimous twelve round decision against previously unbeaten Evans Mbamba (16-1, 8 KOs) at the World Trade Center in Veracruz, Mexico. Scores were 117-109, 117-109 and 119-108. Rojas is now in line to face Vic Darchinyan for the full WBC title on December 12 in Rancho Mirage, California.
