Zurdo Ramirez dominates Findley in U.S. debut

In his U.S. debut, unbeaten middleweight contender Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (26-0, 20 KOs) of Mazatlan, Mexico scored a one-sided ten round unanimous decision over Derrick “Superman” Findley (20-10, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, California. Ramirez won every minute of every round, but “Superman’s” granite jaw withstood every bomb Zurdo connected with, which is nothing new as Findley also went the route with KO Artist Curtis Stevens in April. Scores were 100-90 on all cards.

Unbeaten Russian welterweight Anton Novikov (27-0, 10 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Colorado’s “Red Hot” Robert Frankel (32-14-1, 6 KOs).

Unbeaten super featherweight Jessie Magdaleno (16-0, 12 KOs) scored a third round KO over three-time world title challenger Luis “Titi” Maldonado (36-11-1, 27 KOs).

Super bantamweight Isaac Zarate (6-1, 0 KOs) surprised previously unbeaten Erik Ruiz (9-1, 4 KOs) by taking a spirited six-round majority decision by scores of 57-57, 60-54, 58-56.

Jr welterweight Andrew Ruiz (7-0, 4 KOs) scored a six round unanimous decision over Joaquin Chavez (5-9-2, 2 KOs). Scores were 59-55, 59-55, 58-56.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Victor Pasillas (4-0, 2 KOs) was victorious when the corner of Alexis Hernandez (3-2, 1 KO) threw in the towel in the fourth round.
