Uzbek’s top domestic prospect, jr welterweight Sherzodbek Alimjanov (13-0, 9 KOs) ended 2008 with his ninth victory of the year on Wednesday night at Zhar Sports Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Alimjanov scored a confident twelve-round decision over Georgian George Ungiadze (13-7, 5 KOs) with the scores 120-110, 117-111 and 117-112 to capture the vacant WBC CISBB title. Also, another young gun jr middleweight Tursunbay Ablyakimov (10-1, 3 KOs) outpointed previously undefeated Aibek Jeenbekov (3-1) over six. The show was promoted by Shuhrat Haydarov of “Favzul Munavvar” promotional group.
