WBA #11 middleweight Daniel “The Haitian Sensation” Edouard (23-2-2, 14 KOs) stopped Panamanian Jose Arosemena (12-6-2, 10 KOs) at 2:33 of the second round to retain his WBA Fedelatin middleweight championship in the main event of “De Vuelta a Colon”, an exciting boxing card presented by Premium Boxing Promotions at Hotel Melia, Colon, Panama.
Former WBA super bantam champion and WBA #2 Ricardo “El Maestrito” Cordoba (37-2-2, 23 KOs) won a lopsided unanimous decision over eight rounds against Nicaraguan Jose “El Brillo” Gutierrez (12-8-2, 10 KOs). Cordoba dropped Gutierrez in round seven to finally win by 8, 9 and 10 points on the scorecards.
Undefeated WBA #12 rated featherweight Jamaican Nicholas “The Axe Man” Walters (14-0, 11 KOs) stopped Panamanian Alexander Alonso (7-16-1, 3 KOs) by TKO on the sixth and final round of his fight. Walters’s WBA FEDELATIN featherweight title was not at stake.
Super welter Carlos Jimenez (5-6, 1 KO) dropped his opponent Jorge Andrade (3-3) twice during their 6 round brawl, but Andrade, who only scored one knock down over Jimenez, got the victory by split decision.
Andwar Vargas 115,10-1-1(2) won the interim Super Flyweight Fecarbox title by unanimous decision over Humberto Peña,10-3(4) 115 over 10 rounds.
Previously undefeated Haitian Lightweight, Evens Pierre,12-1(11) lost 3 points on deductions by referee Jose Campos,13-9-1(4), for repeating holding during his six round fight against local Rosano Lawrence, who won by unanimous decision 56-55 on two cards and 57-55 on the other.
Nicaraguan light-flyweight Eliezer Quezada 5-0,(2) stopped Anastacio Zurdo, 0-2, by TKO at 2: 29 of the third round.
