Ennis defeats Rosado

Promoter J Russell Peltz promised a return to the glory days of Philadelphia boxing and Friday night’s all-Philly war at the Arena in South Philadelphia delivered on that promise. USBA junior middleweight champion Derek ‘Pooh’ Ennis (22-2-1, 13 KOs) pounded out a hard fought majority decision over ‘King’ Gabriel Rosado (14-5, 8 KOs) in a thriller that had the fans on their feet from the opening bell. Both fighters were hurt in the bout, but in the end Ennis prevailed by scores of 114-114, 117-111 and 116-112.
