Erittu wins Italian title!

Italian cruiserweight Salvatore Erittu (16-0, 6 KOs) won a convincing ten-round unanimous decision over co-challenger Cristian Dolzanelli (15-1-1, 10 KOs) last friday at Local Sport Hall in Rezzato, Italy. With the win Erittu won the Italian title at 200lbs.

It was a heated fight, with a football-like atmosphere, until the interruption both fighters gave more than expected and went toe-to-toe without any stop with 1,000 screaming fans standing on their feet.

Showing great physical condition, local hero Dolzanelli came forward in his usual aggressive style and pressed his co-challenger starting from the opening minutes but Erittu produced a magnificent display of heart and determination, used his superior ring craft with a dangerous jab work and an accurate body work to gain the control of the clash, Dolzanelli proved every bit as tough but Erittu was simply too strong and consistent and his youth and superior boxing skills were evident over the ten rounds, there were no knockdowns and at the final bell both fighters were given a standing ovation for a very strong and entertaining fight. The Three judges scored the bout 98-93, 98-92 and 97-93 for the new Italian champ.

On the undercard of a show staged by Mario and Graziano Loreni, in front of a full packed arena, the match among light heavyweight Stefano Abatangelo (8-2-1, 3 KOs) and Giulian Ilie (14-2-2, 3 KOs) is ended draw after six chaotic rounds and the undefeated super featherweight Massimiliano Ballisai (6-0, 4 KO’s) destroyed trialhorse Richard Szebeledi (1-4) in less than five minutes with a powerful and perfectly timed right hook to the body.
Finally, super featherweight Benoit Manno (2-0, 1 KOs)and five time amateur national champ, featherweight Mario Pisanti (1-0, 1 KOs) have had a easily work. Both young prospect scoring a stunning first round knock-out with devasting punch, Manno over Slovakian unpresentable Jozef Gabris (0-23-2) and Pisanti over David Rehor (0-1). The main event was televised live in Italy by Rai Sport Sat.
