Former Australian middleweight and light heavyweight contender during the 1970s Errol McIvor (14-18, 10 KOs) passed away at the age of 66 on Wednesday at Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia. Errol defeated Frank Roberts, Barry Watson, Semi Bula, Fighting Fifita and 1969 Australian middleweight champion Dick Blair in 1970. In 1974 Errol captured the Queensland state light heavyweight crown by outpointing Joe Sorby over ten rounds. Australian light heavyweight champion Greg McNamara and 1978 Commonwealth middleweight champion Al Korovou defeated McIvor on TV Ringside bouts. Errol will be sadly missed by his family and Australian boxing fraternity.
