Escalante, Velasquez headline El Paso

Six bouts are on tap for Friday night’s card in El Paso at the Don Haskins Center. In the main event of the Golden Boy Productions card, airing on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights,” super bantamweight contender Antonio Escalante (20-2, 13 KOs) will take on Cornelius Lock (18-3-1, 11 KOs), of Detroit. In the eight-round co-main, featherweight Juan Carlos Velasquez (9-0, 5 KOs), of Puerto Rico, is up against Jose Angel Beranza (31-15-2, 25 KOs), of Mexico City. The four-bout undercard consists of super bantamweight Carlos Ivan Velasquez (10-0, 9 KOs) vs. Juan Nazario (6-1, 4 KOs), both of Puerto Rico, in a sixer; El Paso jr. middle powerhouse Abie Han (4-0, 3 KOs), is up against his second straight undefeated fighter in Brian Soto (3-0, 1 KO), of San Antonio, in a six-round bout; welterweight Robert Luna, Jr. (4-0, 2 KOs), of San Antonio, takes on Juarez’s accident-prone Manuel Bocanegra (7-9-1, 5 KOs); and, in a four-rounder at feather, Saul Morales (6-1, 3 KOs), of El Paso, fights Guadalupe De Leon (7-7, 4 KOs), of Mission, Tex., also four rounds.
