Escobedo set to face Beltran

There will be some high heat thrown at Denver’s Softball Park on July 9 when highly-regarded junior lightweight contenders Vicente Escobedo (22-2, 14 KOs) and Raymundo Beltran (23-4, 15 KOs) meet in the 10 round main event of TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo” telecast. Escobedo was slated to face ring legend Erik Morales before Morales had to pull out with an injury. In the co-featured bout, local junior featherweight Ricky Lopez (7-0, 2 KOs) looks to keep his unbeaten record intact when he takes on Florida standout Derrick Wilson (6-1-2, 2 KOs) in a six rounder.
