“This is the fourth time I’ll be facing an undefeated fighter, I love a tough challenge. I’ve been training really hard like I always do and I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing which is win.” said Efrain Esquivias. “I’m excited to fighting again so soon. I fought last month and if everything goes good in this fight I hope to be fighting again in April. I have a great trainer, a great promoter and a great team, I know 2011 is going to be a good year for us,” continued Esquivias.
In his last outing, Efrain Esquivias defeated southpaw Shawn ‘Bones’ Nichol (5-3, 5 KOs) of Lakewood, Colorado via eighth round TKO last month at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California, which was stopped by the referee at 1:07 of the final round after a few unanswered shots had stunned Nichol.
“Efrain is a very good fighter, very skilled, has a lot of talent and always gives it his all; he’s always the aggressor, definitely the type of fighter fans love to watch. I have no doubt Efrain will be a world champion some day.” said assistant trainer Paul Mayorquin.
Also, in action that night will be hard-punching welterweight Artemio Reyes (10-1, 9 KOs) of Colton, California taking on Marcus Thompkins (5-2-1, 2 KOs) of Michigan City, Indiana in a six-round welterweight bout.
