Promoter Mario Loreni will stage an explosive European Union title clash at the welterweight limit on Friday night at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy. Local hero Leonard Bundu (17-0-1, 6 KOs) and IBF Int. champ 154 lbs. Frank Haroche Horta (18-7-3, 5 KOs) are the co-challengers for the vacant crown. Both fighters are very hard and strong warriors. ‘Boom Boom’ Bundu, a former amateur star is extremely popular in Italy, due to his power and his aggressive style and will step into true international class after a very impressive 2008, but Frenchman Horta, is a real ‘ironman’ and is probably at the peak of his career. All in all, a very compelling matchup for a European Union belt.
In the chief support, light heavyweight Cristian Marchetti (6-0, 4 KOs) will fight former national challenger and stablemate Maurizio Lovaglio (5-5, 4 KOs) in his first quality tough test, talented junior lightweight Massimiliano Ballisai (4-0 with 3 KOs), will have to beat undefeated Mario Salis (3-0, 1 KOs) if he wants to rise in the Italian rankings.
In the other undercard matchups, bantamweight warrior Rodrigo Bracco (8-1, 4 KOs) battles decent Bulgarian Alexander Vladimirov (8-2-1, 4 KO), local boy, lightweight Angelo Ardito (2-1) takes on his fourt match as a prizefighter against Luigi Mantegna (0-12) and undefeated light middleweight Lenny Bottai (5-0, 3 KOs) will square off against Armend Tatari (6-10-1, 2 KOs).
Bundu vs Horta will be aired live on RAISPORT-PIU’ starting at 10:20pm local time.
